Greta Gerwig Starring, Writing and Producing HIMYM Spin-Off

According to Variety, Greta Gerwig is taking over the “How I Met Your Mother” spin-off. Not only is she set to star in the series but also write and produce.

Gerwig will play Sally, a female Peter Pan who has no idea of where she’s going in life and has never grown up. Sally has realized she has nothing in common with her husband of less than a year. A breakup is inevitable, but Sally will find a solid circle of support in her friends and family, who are often too willing to give “good” advice that can backfire. Sally must filter out the input, and decide what’s best for her.

What do you think HIMYM fans? Are you interested? We were lucky enough to be at the Young Hollywood panel at AFI Fest this past November where Greta spoke about her projects, interests and journey into the business. She’s a very passionate, talented young woman and it’s great to see her taking over! She also was just nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in FRANCES HA (Which she also co-wrote). Talk about girl power!

RECAP: Once Upon A Time In Wonderland (S01E06)

On the previous episode of “Once Upon A Time ” we began with Jafar and the Rabbit going through a portal and coming through the ground and scaring a man painting on an easel. Jafar asks the man for directions and they end up at the asylum and then pretends to be ‘Dr. Sheffield’ and starts to questions Alice’s old doctor about Alice. The doctor pretends he doesn’t know who Alice is until Jafar pulls the rabbit out of the bag, startling him and forcing the doctor to tell him everything he knows about Alice.

Meanwhile, the Queen goes to Jafar’s dungeon and realizes that Cyrus has escaped and questions the remaining prisoner of Cyrus’ whereabouts. The prisoner tells her that she will never catch him because he carries the greatest power of all, true love. While the Queen searches for him, Cyrus is tracking Alice by following the glowing necklace around her neck that he’s able to see from miles away. Alice is doing the same by heading west, until she runs into a group of men but she manages to fight them off. Alice starts to make her way through the Black Forest even though she was warned to stay away, but she believes that Cyrus is on the other side of the forest.

Flashback to a year ago in Victorian England, Alice climbs out of a hole in the ground returning from Wonderland, and she sobs because she thinks the Queen has just killed Cyrus. A little girl sees her in the forrest and asks if she’s alright and Alice tells her that she’s lost, so the little girl calls for her father.  Coincidentally, the little girl is actually Alice’s half sister that she never knew existed and Alice’s father welcome’s her home happily.

Back in the present, Knave wanders through the forest looking for Alice, he’s still under the impression Alice is the one who saved him and not the Queen. He then runs into the men that Alice beat up and they tell her that Alice was headed towards the Black Forest. In the forest, Alice sees a bright light and thinking she’s found her way out she runs towards it. Instead she emerges into a type of Grove with trees spraying purple gas through the air, and a creepy man standing there who says he’s the carpenter. He tells Alice to stay in the gore with him and she declines at first, but then she starts to inhale some gas which seems to be wiping her memory because she can’t even remember Cyrus’ name, so she decides to stay.

Flashback again, Alice is home again with her father and his new wife Sarah, who doesn’t seem very fond of Alice. Her father comes to talk to her and gives her an ultimatum of sorts, he tells her that she can stay with them but she isn’t allowed to talk about Wonderland, and that no matter how sad she is about Cyrus, she must pretend to be happy. When they’re eating dinner, Alice’s step-mother, Sarah, is trying to set her up with a suitor, but Alice isn’t ready to meet anyone new because she still isn’t over Cyrus.

In the present, the Queen is still trying to find Cyrus so she’ll find him before Jafar realizes he’s gone and have both the bottle and the genie.

The Knave finally made is through the Black Forest and found Alice in the grove, and realizes that there’s something not quite right with her. He tries to ask the Carpenter what’s wrong with her but then he realizes that he isn’t human from the waist down he’s a tree. When he looks closer at all the trees he realizes they all used to be people as well. He calls for Alice and tells her they have to leave but she looks at him and says, “Who’s Alice?” The Knave tries to get Alice out but she doesn’t want to leave because this is the happiest she’s ever been, and then the bottom half of her legs turn into tree trunks.

Flashback, Alice wakes up from a nightmare and finds her younger half sister Milly standing next to her bed wanting to know who Cyrus is because she keeps screaming is name. She tells Milly about him even though she was sworn to secrecy, then Sarah barges in and tells Milly to go to bed. Her father and Sarah are still appalled she believes in the nonsense of Wonderland.

The Queen tracks Cyrus in the woods using magic and starts to gain on him.

Flashback, Alice’s father tells her that he’s going to help her forget about Wonderland and then they get in an argument. He then kicks her out and tells her she is no longer allowed to live with them, and that she must go live in a mental hospital in London or let Sarah find her a husband.

Knave is still trying everything to get Alice to leave the grove, and has finally figured out that she has to want to leave. Knave throws her necklace that Cyrus gave her and when she touches it she remembers everything.

The Queen has finally caught up to Cyrus and he has nowhere to go put off the edge of a cliff.

Flashback, Alice decides that she would rather live in an asylum than let Sarah find her a husband.

Alice and Knave finally are out of the grove, and then Alice reveals to Knave that is was actually the Queen that freed him from the stone. The Knave then reveals to Alice that when he got his heart back he never put it back in his chest, because he never wanted to feel sadness again. So even if the Queen loved him back, he wouldn’t be able to love her back, because he literally didn’t have a heart.

While the Queen has Cyrus pinned telling him he has nowhere to go, we think it’s over, but suddenly, Cyrus jumps off the cliff when he sees the necklace.

Jafar arrives at the house of none other than Alice’s fathers.

RECAP: Once Upon A Time In Wonderland (S01E05)

Last week’s episode of “Once Upon A Time In Wonderland” began in a flashback with Will and Anastasia getting ready to go through the portal to Wonderland when Anastasia’s mother comes in and tells Ana that she’s being silly. Anastasia’s mother doesn’t approve of Will and thinks he’s just a common thief. Anastasia ignores her mother and goes through the portal with Will.

In present day Wonderland, Alice is looking at the statue of the Knave and telling him that she’ll figure out a way to fix this when the queen interrupts her. She offers Alice a deal to get her some magic dust that will help her get rid of Jafar in return for showing Alice where Cyrus is.

The other prisoner in the dungeon with Cyrus tells him that he also has something very valuable that Jafar want’s. Cyrus tells him that they won’t be there much longer because he has a plan. Cyrus makes a hole in the bottom of his cage and is able to escape but the other prisoner tells him to go ahead without him. While Cyrus is escaping, Jafar is torturing the white rabbit to find out who else Alice cares about in Wonderland. The rabbit escapes from Jafar and runs into Cyrus, but he lets Cyrus leave without telling Jafar.

The Queen takes Alice to a cliff where she has to cross a huge ravine to get the magic dust, but it is impossible for anyone to make the jump and live. There is a tiny sign that says “only the purest of heart shall make the leap” and the queen believes Alice to have a pure heart and that she’ll survive the leap.

In another flashback, Ana and Will sneak into a ball at the Wonderland Palace and there Ana meets the King and is smitten with him. The Palace guards arrive and accuse Will and Ana of being imposters and robbing someone’s carriage and throw them out of the Palace.

Alice is standing at the edge of the cliff comtemplating taking a step, then she says she believes that her and Cyrus’ love is strong enough to carry her across. She takes a step and doesn’t fall, she takes a few more steps and still doesn’t fall and then suddenly she falls and disappears into the ravine. The queen stands at the edge of the cliff shocked that Alice fell because she thought her heart was pure.

Another flashback, Ana and Will are arguing and she tells him she’s unhappy in Wonderland. Then she comes up with a plan to steal the King’s crowned jewels and take them home with them and sell them. Will is uneasy about all of this but finally agrees.

Alice didn’t die when she fell, but instead she landed in a cave, and then a creepy little girl appears who looks an awful lot like a young Alice. The girl tells her that she knows where the magic dust is but won’t give it up until Alice “earns it.” The little girl is Alice’s conscious, and she starts to stomp on the ground which cause the queen to fall in the cave. The little girl wants Alice to kill the queen because she says Alice wanted to after the queen took Cyrus from her. Alice refuses to kill the queen, and it turns out this was all a test to see if Alice was really pure at heart and she passed. The little girl then evaporates into a pile of the magic dust which the were in search for all along. When they’re out of the cave the queen breaks her promise to Alice and takes the dust without telling Alice where Cyrus is, but luckily Alice kept some of the dust to herself.

Flashback, Ana breaks into the Palace while Will waits below for her to throw down the crown jewels. While Ana is putting the jewels in a bag the King catches here, but he tells her that he will not have her arrested. He tells her that there’s something about her and he asks for her hand in marriage. Ana decides that love is not enough and abandons Will and becomes the Red Queen that we all know today. When she is announced as Queen, Will looks on heartbroken.

Back in the present, the Queen does seem to have a little bit of a heart left even if she doesn’t show it. She sprinkles magic dust on Will’s statue on he comes back to life but she disappears before he sees her.

Alice uses her portion of the dust to find out where Jafar’s castle is, meanwhile at Jafar’s castle Cyrus has just escaped when he sees he’s on the top of a cliff miles and miles away from Wonderland.

RECAP: Once Upon A Time In Wonderland (S01E03)

On last weeks episode of “Once Upon A Time In Wonderland” we learned a lot more about Knave. The episode started out with a flashback to the Enchanted Forest, there we saw Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Among his Merry Men was a very familiar face, the Knave of Hearts, but in the Enchanted Forest he was known as Will. Will became of member of Robin Hood’s Merry Men to help provide a better life for him and his loved on Anastasia, who is still a mystery to us.

Back in Wonderland, Alice learns about the Knave’s past in the Enchanted Forest and she needs someone like him to help her get back Cyrus’ bottle. He then tells her about something that can help them find where it is, it’s called a forget me not. It’s a rope with magical powers that can show you the past if you hold it over a spot, so if they held it over the hole where the bottle was buried they could see who stole it. Knave takes Alice to the underground black market that runs throughout Wonderland thinking that the caterpillar can help them. Little does Alice know that the Knave is already in debt to the caterpillar. When they get there they find out that the caterpillar doesn’t have the not, but he knows where it is. So Knave makes a deal with him that if he gets the not and returns it to him all his debts will be paid.

Meanwhile, Jafar and the Red Queen are trying to think of ways to make Alice use her first wish. They start naming off of ideas in front of Cyrus to judge his facial expressions, when suddenly the Queen mentions a bandersnatch. Cyrus looks concerned and the Queen remembers that Alice once had an encounter with one on her first visit to Wonderland. So the set the bandersnatch after Alice.

An unknowing Alice and Knave walk to the  house of the Grendel to get the forget me not, but fall into a hole instead. When they wake up they’re tied up in a corner and see the Grendel and that he’s starting a fire. He’s going to eat them! They have to figure out a way out, they realize that he has a weakness, he’s looking in the mirror at a man and woman talking. They realize that it must be a woman he loved, so Knave decides to try and talk his way out of it but it doesn’t work. The Grendel sharpens his knives to prepare to eat them when Alice frees herself from the ropes with her wishes, literally. She helps Knave and they open the door only to see the bandersnatch. They panic and devise a plan to have him see them in the forget me not and surprisingly it works and they’re able to catch him in the not. Alice his holding the bandersnatch in the not when the Knave runs out of the room and the Grendel walks in and the bandersnatch almost attacks him, but the Knave comes back in just in time to kill him. The Grendel thanks him for saving his life and then gives them the not and tells them that the Queen turned him like that after he stole the not from her.

Once Alice and Knave have the not the go to the hole only to find out that the White Rabbit stole the bottle and has been working with the Queen all along. Alice is devastated by this news. Knave decides to burn the Knot instead of giving it to the caterpillar so it won’t be able to be used anymore and because he doesn’t want to be a thief anymore. The Queen and Jafar bribe the Grendel to give the information by telling them he’ll be reunited with his wife and he tells them Alice and Knave were traveling together.

Back at Jafar’s place they think the bandersnatch is dead which means Alice used her first wish but Jafar knows she didn’t use her wish, we then see Cyrus say his plan worked perfectly!

One last flashback in the Enchanted Forest shows, Robin Hood and the Merry Men in Maleficint’s castle just to steal gold but Will steals something else. He steals something magical that create a portal for him and Anastasia. When he returns home we see that Anastasia is actually the Red Queen and the portal is taking them to Wonderland where they can be whoever they choose…and we all know who she chose.

“The Walking Dead” to get Spin-off Series

the-walking-dead-wallpaper

“The Walking Dead” has been a mega-hit for AMC, and of course, talks of a spin-off for the series was never a question. AMC president, Charlie Collier revealed that the Unnamed “Walking Dead” spin-off would premiere as early as 2015, following a new story line and a new group of people.

“Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer,” said AMC prez Charlie Collier in a statement. “We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse.”

Added Kirkman: “After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.”

Season 4 of “The Walking Dead” premieres on October 13th.
