PHOTO: First Look At FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Cast and New Release Date

We have been discussing for weeks whether or not FIFTY SHADES OF GREY will be released on time and this morning we got our answer. The movie will now be released on February 13th 2015, six months later than originally planned. The news came as we also received our first official photo’s of Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, these photos came from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly where the FIFTY SHADES OF GREY star’s grace the cover.

Victor Rasuk Cast as Jose in FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

Interview Magazine

Deadline is reporting that Victor Rasuk has been cast as Jose, classmate and good friend of Ana. Though he’s not so innocent in all of this, his friendship and desire to be more than friends with her makes him a competitor for Christian.  Oh, love triangles.

It feels like FIFTY SHADES is finally coming together.  Now that we’ve finally moved past the Charlie Hunnam confusion, replacing him with Jamie Dornan, who seems much more confident in this role, fans seem even more anxious to get the first glimpse of Christian and Ana on set!

Do you think Victor fits the role of Jose? Let us know in the comments!

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Production Pushed Back

Looks like FIFTY SHADES OF GREY won’t be starting next month. According to THR, production has been pushed back to December 2nd.

Not very surprising considering that Charlie Hunnam, originally cast as Christian Grey, dropped out of the film last month due to scheduling conflicts.  Can’t film without Christian!

Jamie Dornan was screen tested opposite Dakota Johnson, cast as Anastasia Steele, for the director Sam Taylor- Johnson, the author E.L. James and producers Michael DeLuca and Dana Brunetti. Dornan accepted the role to fan reaction that was leaps and bounds better than it was for Hunnam.  And, to top it all off, Luke Grimes was cast as Christian’s brother, Elliot, just days ago!

From all the casting ups and downs that have occurred it makes a lot of sense for them to push back production. I’m still waiting to hear about all the other characters! The current release date for the film is August 1st 2014 – will they make it in time? We will see.

Luke Grimes, who played James (the free love, hippie vampire Jessica uses as an escape from the real world) from HBO’s “True Blood”, has reportedly joined the cast of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Luke will play Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) brother, Elliot.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY is set to begin filming November 1st in Vancouver.

And we have a new Christian Grey! After Charlie Hunnam’s surprising departure from the film the search was on for the new Christian. We reported a few days ago that Jamie Dornan and Billy Magnussen had done screen tests and Variety is reporting that Jamie has accepted the role!

Irish actor Jamie Dornan has been tapped to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the Universal and Focus adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey”.

Dakota Johnson co-stars as Anastasia Steele with Sam Taylor-Johnson on board to direct.

Universal and Focus Features declined to comment.

Fans that were rooting for Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer seem to be taking this new casting news pretty well. I’m excited for Jamie! I have to say, visually, Jamie matches the role a lot more than Charlie did. I wonder what his chemistry will be like with Dakota? Hmm..

Billy Magnussen & Jamie Dornan Tested for FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Role

On Friday, Oct 18th, Billy Magnussen (INTO THE WOODS) and Jamie Dornan (“Once Upon A Time”) tested with Dakota Johnson to replace Charlie Hunnam’s Christian Grey in FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the breaking news. This is the latest news regarding recasting for the untimely Charlie Hunnam departure for the role. We reported earlier this weekend that Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood was being considered for the role as well.

Universal Pictures and Focus Features have a tight production schedule to attend to for a pre-determined August 1, 2014 release date. Filming is set to begin November 1st.

What are your thoughts on Magnussen and Dornan? Do they fit the Christian Grey mold?
