Deadline is reporting that Victor Rasuk has been cast as Jose, classmate and good friend of Ana. Though he’s not so innocent in all of this, his friendship and desire to be more than friends with her makes him a competitor for Christian.  Oh, love triangles.

It feels like FIFTY SHADES is finally coming together.  Now that we’ve finally moved past the Charlie Hunnam confusion, replacing him with Jamie Dornan, who seems much more confident in this role, fans seem even more anxious to get the first glimpse of Christian and Ana on set!

Do you think Victor fits the role of Jose? Let us know in the comments!

Luke Grimes, who played James (the free love, hippie vampire Jessica uses as an escape from the real world) from HBO’s “True Blood”, has reportedly joined the cast of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Luke will play Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) brother, Elliot.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY is set to begin filming November 1st in Vancouver.

And we have a new Christian Grey! After Charlie Hunnam’s surprising departure from the film the search was on for the new Christian. We reported a few days ago that Jamie Dornan and Billy Magnussen had done screen tests and Variety is reporting that Jamie has accepted the role!

Irish actor Jamie Dornan has been tapped to replace Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in the Universal and Focus adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey”.

Dakota Johnson co-stars as Anastasia Steele with Sam Taylor-Johnson on board to direct.

Universal and Focus Features declined to comment.

Fans that were rooting for Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer seem to be taking this new casting news pretty well. I’m excited for Jamie! I have to say, visually, Jamie matches the role a lot more than Charlie did. I wonder what his chemistry will be like with Dakota? Hmm..

Billy Magnussen & Jamie Dornan Tested for FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Role

On Friday, Oct 18th, Billy Magnussen (INTO THE WOODS) and Jamie Dornan (“Once Upon A Time”) tested with Dakota Johnson to replace Charlie Hunnam’s Christian Grey in FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the breaking news. This is the latest news regarding recasting for the untimely Charlie Hunnam departure for the role. We reported earlier this weekend that Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood was being considered for the role as well.

Universal Pictures and Focus Features have a tight production schedule to attend to for a pre-determined August 1, 2014 release date. Filming is set to begin November 1st.

What are your thoughts on Magnussen and Dornan? Do they fit the Christian Grey mold?

Scott Eastwood to be Considered for FIFTY SHADES Role?

After Charlie Hunnam announced he would no longer play Christian Grey in the upcoming FIFTY SHADES OF GREY film, the race to find a replacement has begun. Clint Eastwood’s son, Scott Eastwood, is the next victim in the gossip columns’ game, according to Just Jared.

Charlie’s untimely departure (as in, production is starting in November, ‘untimely’) from the project has led to media speculation. Charlie reportedly said that the reason for his leave was due to the seemingly uncontrollable, instantaneous fan-frenzy and his commitment to “Sons of Anarchy.” We all know that “Sons of Anarchy” was not going to cause conflict with his schedule; however, Charlie is smart in protecting his image in this way.

Scott Eastwood as Christian Grey is an interesting choice. He’s relatively unknown, other than his relation to his famous father. This could, perhaps, be the best for the film; however, I have my doubts about whether Dakota Johnson, who plays the female lead Anastasia Steele, will have chemistry with Scott.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Scott would make a good Christian Grey?

Charlie Hunnam Leaves FIFTY SHADES OF GREY

Charlie Hunnam will no longer be playing the long awaited role of Christian Grey in the upcoming movie FIFTY SHADES OF GREY alongside Dakota Johnson.

“The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey, ” Universal Pictures said in a statement.

Who would your dream Christian Grey be in the adaption of the E.L. James novel?

Charlie Hunnam talks to AP about his role as Christian Grey

The Associated Press spoke with Charlie Hunnam, the man who was just announced will play Christian Grey in the film adaption of Fifty Shades of Grey, about the graphic sex scenes he will need to portray in his new role, the challenges of this character and why he initially turned it down.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Charlie Hunnam will likely have to bare all and engage in some very graphic sex scenes as the leading man in “50 Shades of Grey,” but he says it’s not a new dimension for him.

“You know what, I had such a baptism of fire with regards to sexuality on camera at the beginning of my career,” explained Huunam. “I starred in the British channel Four miniseries ‘Queer As Folk’ where I played a young, gay character and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show. So I feel, and now I am 16 years older and more mature so I don’t anticipate them being too much of a problem. It’s like anything else, just an exciting challenge.”

After months of speculation, the 33-year-old Hunnam was chosen to play Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, the main characters in the erotic, best-selling novel “50 Shades of Grey,” by E. L. James. Hunnam talked about his hotly anticipated role on Saturday night as he attended the premiere of the sixth season of “Sons of Anarchy,” on which he plays the character Jax.

One of the directors for the FX show revealed that Hunnam initially turned down the role of Grey.

“One week ago or two weeks ago, he was on my set when they came back to him and they wanted him to do it because he passed on it once, you know,” Peter Weller said. “They came back to him and I said, ‘Charlie, Charlie, Charlie, what do you think, this is too pulpy or something?’ He said, ‘Ah.’ ‘Well, let me give you the list of actors who did matinee idol style stuff, beginning with Cary Grant let’s go there. If you don’t do this, I’ll burn your house down.'”

However, Hunnam, who also starred in in this summer’s robot-monster battle “Pacific Rim,” said he wasn’t hesitant to accept the role — rather, he just wasn’t sure the timing was right.

“I just, there was a bit of a timing issue where I just wanted to insure that I was going to have enough time to really do the preparation so I can bring this guy to life and do him justice and when they decided to push the schedule to accommodate that then I was a no-brainer and I was in,” he said.

While Hunnam is excited to play Grey, his girlfriend, Morgana McNelis, isn’t particularly excited about him filming explicit love scenes with Johnson, the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.

“Of course, it’s difficult being with an actor, you know?” said Hunnam. “She is required to share certain parts of me with the world that she wouldn’t necessarily choose to do, but we have a great relationship and she loves me and wants to be with me and we’ve been together a long time now, and I think she understands and has come to terms with the fact that there are certain elements of me that she is going to have to share. This is an extreme example of that, but thankfully we do have seven and a half years of history together, so it won’t be a big problem.”

Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, the film is to be released next August.

With all the arguing going on about the casting choice of him as Christian and Dakota Johnson as Ana – where do you stand? Are you angry with the casting? Are you happy? Do you want to wait and see how they look on screen or are you over it already? Let us know in the comments!
