Charlie Hunnam was Stephenie Meyers choice for Carlisle Cullen

Did you know that Charlie Hunnam was Twilight author, Stephenie Meyers, first choice for Carlisle Cullen?

Stephenie had written a long post about her dream cast for Twilight -which is actually quite fun to go through and read who she had pictured for each role now that the movies are completed – and wanted Charlie for Carlisle. Unfortunately he wasn’t interested in that type of role; “since I hear that Charlie Hunnam refuses to consider scripts which include vampires,”

Oddly enough he’s now playing a “version” of Edward Cullen in the Twilight fan-fiction gone NY Times best selling  Fifty Shades of Grey written by EL James.  It was announced yesterday that he was cast as Christian Grey (previously known as fan-fiction Edward in Master of the Universe) alongside Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele (a.k.a Bella Swan) in the film adaption.

Charlie talked about his role as Christian – graphic sex scenes, his girlfriend & why he initially turned it down.

What are your thoughts on Charlie as Christian in Fifty Shades? What about Dakota as Ana? Are you excited for this movie or skeptical at it’s adaption from book to screen? Let us know in the comments!

Thanks to our friends over at Page To Premiere, specifically Amy (@OhMyCarlisle), for pointing this odd piece of information out.
