Alanis Morissette Is Bringing “Jagged Little Pill” To Broadway

It looks like Alanis Morissette’s will be following in the footsteps of Green Day by making her best selling album “Jagged Little Pill” into a musical on Broadway. A workshop production is slated for 2014 and the musical will feature all of the songs from “Jagged Little Pill” along with other songs from throughout Alanis’ career.

She talked about how she’s been dealing with the loss of him and how she’s choosing to rise above the situation. She also talked about how she has decided to add a last minute track to her untitled debut album that was her and Cory’s song. She said the song makes her happy and makes her think of Cory. We cannot wait to hear the song and the rest of her album and we cannot even begin to describe how much we admire Lea for being so brave throughout this whole thing.

Max Irons to star in political drama ‘Farragut North’

WhatsOnStage.com is reporting that Max Irons (The White Queen, The Host) and Rachel Tucker will star in a political drama, Farragut North.  It will run this fall from September 13th to October 5th, directed by Guy Unsworth.  The play, written by Beau Willimon, was adapted for Hollywood as The Ides of March, which starred Ryan Gosling and George Clooney.

Max Irons and Rachel Tucker will star in Southwark Playhouse’s forthcoming production of Beau Willimon’s political drama Farragut North.

Running from 13 September to 5 October 2013 (previews from 11 September), the production is directed by Guy Unsworth.

Willimon adapted his play for the screen as The Ides of March, which was directed by George Clooney and starred Clooney and Ryan Gosling.

Willimon acted as head writer on the recent US version of House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey.

Farragut North centres on Stephen Bellamy (Irons), a bright young man who, at 25, is already press secretary to a candidate for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. But when Stephen receives an unexpected phone call at a crucial period in the campaign, a decision made in the heat of the moment unleashes a chain of events beyond his control.
Max Irons, son of actors Jeremy Irons and Sinéad Cusack, is currently shooting the role of Miles in Lone Scherfig’s film adaptation of Laura Wade’s play Posh. He recently played King Edward IV in the BBC’s The White Queen. His theatre work includes Friedrich Schiller’s Wallenstein (Minerva, Chichester).

Rachel Tucker plays Ida. Theatre credits includes Meat in We Will Rock You (Dominion), Mary in Tonight’s The Night (National Tour) and Sally Simpson in Tommy (National Tour). She appeared on BBC casting show I’d Do Anything where she reached the semi-final stages for the role of Nancy, and recently finished playing Elphaba in the West End production of Wicked (Apollo Victoria).

The cast also features Aysha Kala (Vicious, Khadija is 18, Much Ado About Nothing), Josh O’Connor (forthcoming film of Posh, Moving Pictures, Doctor Who), Alain Terzoli (Revenger’s Tragedy, Jersey Boys) and Andrew Whipp (King Lear, Macbeth, Not Going Out).

Producer Peter Huntley said, “I am thrilled that we have gathered such an extraordinarily talented cast to bring life to Beau Willimon’s wonderful play. I believe this production will be an extraordinary experience for company and audiences alike.”
