Best of: Episode 1 – The White Queen

Instead of just posting my episode review each week I thought I could switch it up a bit, keep you all entertained. I’ve decided that I’ll do a best of for each episode with at least these three categories, Best Line, Best Scene & Best Character.  Then, depending on what happens each week I may add a new category. I’m trying to be a bit spontaneous with this so, just go with it.  I got this idea after watching the first episode at a screening with two of my friends and then going out to dinner afterwards and discussing our favorite parts.

TWQ Ep. 1 - 1

Episode 1:
In Love with the King

____________

Best Line:

Don’t doubt my courage Your Grace, I match for any man.” – Elizabeth Woodville

Best Scene:

When Elizabeth meets her lovely mother-in-law. During the screening in NYC this scene got the most laughs, hollers and mumbles between the audience. I can’t even tell you how much I just want to hug Janet McTeer (Jacquetta, Elizabeth’s mom) in this scene.

Best Character:

Elizabeth Woodville. She takes the cake in this episode and although I have to say Edward definitely is a close second with Warwick & Jacquetta on his tail it has to be Elizabeth. She goes from commoner to queen with grace and elegance. You can see her moments of vulnerability but you never doubt her  strength to persevere and come out on top.

Best Max Line:

So is this love then? Is this what it feels like?” – King Edward IV
