RECAP: Grey’s Anatomy (S10E17)

Last week’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” was centered around Cristina and the future of her relationship with Owen and her career. As her patient, Jason, chooses whether to live or die she sees how it would effect her life when she ran to Owen as he waited for the elevator sharing the good or bad news with him. The two scenarios that play out are:

Option 1: As Jason chooses to die Cristina decides she and Owen she be together, they get a house and adopt the strangest looking dog at the pound, Mrs. Rodriguez. Typical Cristina, she’s not the cutesy type to get a cute pet!  Later, Owen gets a job offer in Germany that would involve them moving and Cristina dropping her trial. Next flash forward is to a Pregnant Cristina who allows Shane to take on more responsibility with the trial. As she gives birth to her son Theo, Cristina tells Meredith she made a mistake, this is not what she wanted. Allowing her role as mother take over her role as a surgeon, a couple of years later when her son takes a fall at the park she must leave Shane to take lead on the trial to be with him.
At Baileys 7th birthday, Cristina is pregnant again and tells Meredith she is tired from life but sees how happy Owen is. Next we see Cristina about twenty years into the future on the night of the Harper Avery awards, but it is not Cristina receiving the award, she is presenting it to Shane, a devastated Cristina then sobs in the bathroom about the life she has lived. She gave up her Career to be a Mother.
Option 2: Jason chooses to live and Cristina believes she has achieved the impossible and it feels incredible and she wants to celebrate with Owen. In this scenario the two embark on a more casual relationship, with no expectations. Further down the road, Owen is regretting his decision, now wanting Children, reverting on the agreements they made at the start of their relationship. She and Owen end their relationship, AGAIN, but this time Owen turns to Alcohol to deal with his problems, something that effects his personal and professional life as his colleagues no longer feel safe with him working as a doctor as he puts patients at risk. In this scenario Cristina wins the Harper Avery award for the fourth time.
So which route does she take? Neither. She misses Owen as Meredith stops her to ask for help. Was this fate stepping in and stopping Cristina from having a life she does not want? We think so!
The message of this episode is : Do you know who you are, do you know whats happened to you? Do you want to live this way? It is something that is incredibly relatable for everyone. It is one of the best episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” it raises questions about something that we all deal with: Getting to know ourselves and finding out what we really want in life. Incredible episode from Shonda Rhimes.
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Tonight Thursday at 9/8c on ABC and this week’s episode looks like it is going to be CRAZY!

TFIOS Fans! Send Us Your Hazel Story to ‘Hearts 4 Hazel’, A Fan-Driven Movement

Hearts4Hazel_logo

Over the past few months Fangirlish and Fanspired – we – have been fully trying to develop the Hair for Hazel idea. The movement started out as us wanting to create a national hair drive for people to donate their hair to cancer patients. We unfortunately weren’t able to do the things that we wanted to do. So we’ve let Hair for Hazel evolve. And now it’s evolved into an idea of a grander scale – just a different kind of grand — Hearts for Hazel.

Hearts for Hazel is more than just about hair. It’s about the way that The Fault in Our Stars has affected us. It’s about the way that cancer has affected all of our lives. It’s about the hair that we’ve donated. It’s about the people that have passed and the people that have survived.

It’s about the book that changed the way we look at things.

So Hearts for Hazel has a new purpose. It’s to tell your stories. It’s to tell the stories of how cancer affected you. It’s to tell the stories of how you donated your hair. It’s to share the stories of how the Fault in Our Stars changed your life.

So we’re in the midst of building the site and here’s what we’re asking from you –

H4H_1 Send us your story. Tell us about how cancer has affected you. Tell us about how you survived it. Tell us about how the book impacted your life.

h4h_2You may have not known someone with cancer – but have read the book. Send us how the book affected you. How Gus, Hazel, and Isaac changed your life.

h4h_3Send us your picture (one per story) to go along with it. All the stories will be posted on the heartsforhazel.com website and tweeted out to share with the world through @Hearts4Hazel.
